September 23 is Yom Kippur.  Scheduling this event involved bringing together several factors and the Maryland World Class Consortia would like to apologize for hosting this meeting during this religious holiday.

May you be sealed in the Book of Life for a good year!

The Maryland World Class Consortia holds regular meetings each quarter for members, potential members, supporters, and guests.  Each meeting is a half-day "mini-conference" that provide new developments among Consortia members, examples of World Class tools in action, and networking with active practitioners.

Our upcoming meeting features:

Anastasia Brown, RN, JD is currently a Performance Improvement Facilitator at Anne Arundel Medical Center, where she is leading the organization's Throughput Initiative with a team of Physicians, Nurses, and PI Personnel.

Eve Sage, is currently the Clinical Nursing Director of Joint & Spine Center and General Surgical Unit at Anne Arundel Medical Center.  She is a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland and a Certified Medical Surgical Nurse.

Join Anastasia and Eve as they share their organizations journey through their Joint Center Value Stream.  They will discuss stages of their journey and how persistence helped the Anne Arundel Medical Center build stronger collaboration between disciplines, process improvement driven by metrics, and better patient centered care.  You will hear how these results to date have been dramatic with lower re-admissions and market share growth through LOS, improved and better patient experiences.

Melissa McEwen has over 17 years of environmental and management consulting experience. As a Senior Lean Practitioner at Haley & Aldrich, Melissa combines her years of environmental consulting experience with Lean-based facilitation skills to set strategic direction, improve performance, and help teams to apply systems thinking.

Bob Moore is a Vice President at The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, which has been in the construction industry for over a century.

Bob is an expert in healthcare construction.  His 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry encompasses over $500 million and 1.3 billion SF.

The presenters will share examples of success; from $180,000,000 medical center to developer led high-tech and retail projects.  You will learn how to apply lean thinking to create an action plan that tackles resiliency and sustainability threats.
