This one-day overview provides an introduction to lean tools and principles.  Attendees will learn the eight wastes, and the techniques that systematically reduce them in any organization.

A simulation is included to enrich the learning experience, clearly demonstrating the differences between traditional and lean processing systems.  People who attend this seminar will understand the significant benefits that can be achieved by implementing lean throughout an organization.

Typical results include:

  • 75% reduction in process lead time;
  • 40% productivity improvements;
  • 50% decline in quality problems;
  • 50% decrease in required work space;
  • 90% reduction in work-in-process.

This seminar will benefit anyone, including both production and service operations.  No prior knowledge of lean is required.  The workshop is frequently used to provide a basic understanding of lean to members from all levels of an organization.

The workshop will be presented by Drew LocherManaging Director for Change Management Associates (CMA). CMA provides lean enterprise consulting and organizational development services to industrial and service organizations representing a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, transportation, distribution, health care, education and financial services.  Mr. Locher's 2004 book The Complete Lean Enterprise - Value Stream Mapping for Administrative and Office Processes, was the recipient of a 2005 Shingo Prize for Manufacturing Excellence.
