See you in October!The Maryland World Class Consortia holds regular meetings each quarter for members, potential members, supporters, and guests. Each meeting is a half-day "mini-conference" that provide new developments among Consortia members, examples of World Class tools in action, and networking with active practitioners.
Speakers for this meeting:
Bryan Lund, Production and Quality Manager for the Edlund Company of Burlington, Vermont, will discuss the 5S system of workplace organization and visual management, but from a perspective that goes far beyond the typical housekeeping focus that returns marginal results. Bryan will discuss how to use 5S as the foundation for a coaching program that helps build a culture of daily improvement. If your 5S approach is stalled, delivering marginal returns for your time investment, and not supporting your lean transformation in a meaningful way, you will want to hear this insightful discussion.
For over three years, Pete Najera served as the Vice President of Operations and lean transformation leader for North America's largest renewable biomass energy producer. Pete will discuss his company's lean transformation strategy, key features, and lessons learned. Your company is probably very different than Pete's, but the areas he will cover can be applied to any organization of any size. Pete has a rich leadership background, and is an astute student of lean culture.
