The Maryland World Class Consortia holds regular meetings each quarter for members, potential members, supporters, and guests. Each meeting is a half-day "mini-conference" that provide new developments among Consortia members, examples of World Class tools in action, and networking with active practitioners.

Peter Rapp is Vice President of Operations at Thomas Medical Products, a GE Healthcare Company. Thomas specializes in devices used in vascular access, delivery and closure, and the company is over 4 years into their lean journey. In recognition of its lean progress, Thomas was recently singled out by the Institute for World Class Manufacturing for its "Journey to World Class Manufacturing Award". Peter will describe key aspects of their lean deployment to date, and share lessons learned.
Joe Barto is founder and president of Training Modernization Group, Inc., an organization recognized over six years for Excellence in Practice with partners across America. Joe's presentation, entitled "The Courage to Lead a Lean Journey", will identify two key root causes of derailments on the lean transformation. His discussion will point out lessons learned and recommended best practices for those who seek to accelerate their lean implementation or reenergize an existing program that is not delivering value or performance results.
