The Maryland World Class Consortia holds regular meetings each quarter for members, potential members, supporters, and guests. Each meeting is a half-day "mini-conference" that provide new developments among Consortia members, examples of World Class tools in action, and networking with active practitioners.
Speakers for this quarter:
Shawn Wolf and Andrea Lacasse of Wright Manufacturing will facilitate a discussion that will accelerate your lean transformation stemming from this question: "Are you likeable?" Different and better results require different thinking and behaviors. That, in turn, requires changes in leadership, and that can be difficult. Shawn and Andrea will provide a framework for reflection and for planning changes in your organization and in yourself.
Michael Ricciardelli of LitheSpeed will discuss what lean software development can teach other industries. If you haven't heard of Agile, it is a software project management approach with roots in Lean Thinking. Technicians and managers in many industries (manufacturing, engineering, healthcare, defense) often struggle: How does lean apply to project-driven processes? Agile, it turns out, is a big part of the answer. Michael will share how Agile, Scrum, and Kanban can be used beyond software projects.
