The Reshoring Initiative: Bringing Manufacturing Back Home

Win work back from low cost overseas manufacturers!  Help your customers make the right decision on sourcing!  Understand your company’s potential Total Cost of Ownership advantage versus overseas competitors!

Many U.S. producers, particularly manufacturers, have suffered as work has been moved to low labor cost (LLC) countries.  Reshoring production has grown increasingly popular in the U.S. over the last few years in the face of higher transportation and fuel costs, higher wage rates overseas, and increasing reject rates in developing countries.  The non-profit Reshoring Initiative accelerates this process by helping companies objectively decide what and when to reshore through the Total Cost of Ownership Estimator software.

The Reshoring Initiative details the benefits of sourcing in the United States. This is extremely important given that 60% of OEMs and manufacturers use "rudimentary total cost models" and ignore up to 20% of the costs of offshoring. If you and your customers are not accounting for 20% the costs to offshore -- offshoring may NOT be the most economical decision. In a tough economy, no one can afford that. Join us for this one-hour webinar to learn more!

Harry Moser founded the Reshoring Initiative to help companies better understand the full cost of offshoring, the benefits of reshoring, and how to bring more manufacturing jobs back to the U.S.

Harry has been President and Chairman Emeritus of GF AgieCharmilles, the leading producer of EDM and HSM machine tools. He writes and speaks nationally on the impact on manufacturing of President Obama's and Congress' actions and policies, as well as strategies to strengthen the skilled manufacturing workforce, compete with low-cost countries, and revitalize U.S. manufacturing.

Harry was recently inducted into Industry Week’s Manufacturing Hall of Fame 2010, joining Jack Welch, Steve Jobs, Lee Iacocca, and others. He been on CBS, quoted in the Wall Street Journal and USATODAY, and spoken at numerous conferences, including at the National Press Club.
