Join the Maryland World Class Consortia for an exciting plant tour at Equipment Development Company (EDCO) in Frederick, Maryland. Founded in 1959 and family‑owned since then, EDCO is renowned for engineering and manufacturing “rental‑tough” surface‑preparation and sawing equipment in its expansive 85,000‑square‑foot facility right in Frederick. 

Since 2006, as a member of the Maryland World Class Consortia, EDCO has embraced Lean principles to continually reduce waste, enhance processes, and deliver faster turnaround times.  Equipped with advanced laser fabrication, CNC machining, powder coating, and assembly capabilities,  EDCO's core competency is sheet metal manufacturing.   On this tour, you’ll get a firsthand look at how Lean tools have helped EDCO drive efficiency, quality, and safety in its past, and how they are using Lean principles to evolve their workforce for the future.
