The Maryland World Class Consortia holds regular meetings each quarter for members, potential members, supporters, and guests. Each meeting is a half-day "mini-conference" that provide new developments among Consortia members, examples of World Class tools in action, and networking with active practitioners.
Speakers for this meeting:
Eddie Conklin of Peninsula Regional Medical Center will describe the great lean strides being made at this regional hospital on Maryland's Eastern Shore. PRMC has gotten some very positive press recently in healthcare trade publications. Eddie has a deep manufacturing background. Bringing lean practices to hospital operations presented many challenges, some new, and some familiar. Eddie's lessons-learned and advice can help accelerate any lean journey in any industry.
Mike Galiazzo of RMI of Maryland will describe new programs and plans that will be of keen interest to Maryland manufacturers and others interested in seeing a stronger Maryland economy and American Middle Class.
Mike DeBergalis, formerly of Dentsply Caulk, now with Kraft Foods, and Justin Cressler of Kraft Foods will speak about their companies' lean journeys. Mike recently described aspects of Dentsply's transformation at the 2013 Mid-Atlantic Lean Conference. He and Justin will compare and contrast features of the two companies' lean efforts. This presentation will offer a unique comparative study of two lean strategies, what works, and why.
