The Maryland World Class Consortia holds regular meetings each quarter for members, potential members, supporters, and guests. Each meeting is a half-day "mini-seminar" that provide new developments among Consortia members, examples of World Class tools in action, and networking with active practitioners. Continental breakfast and lunch are included.
The member story this quarter comes from our newest member organization, the Howard County Public School System. Ken Roey, Executive Director of Facilities Planning and Management, will describe his team's approach and early results applying Lean Thinking in a public school system. His presentation underscores how lean can be used effectively in administrative and government processes. Learn by example how Lean can be applied to similar processes in your organization. Invite your public school, or state/local government official!
Our featured guest speaker this quarter is Ross Robson, President of DnR Lean LLC and Former Executive Director of The Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence. Dr. Robson has worked extensively with automotive safety products company, Autoliv - a multiple Shingo award winner. In recent years, Autoliv has been benchmarked and studied by many firms, large and small. Ross will describe details of Autoliv's lean management system. He will also address his work to promote and share the teachings of Toyota Production System Pioneer Shigeo Shingo outside of Japan, helping to fuel the understanding and application of Lean in the United States.
